Like Drinking Poison, Like Eating Glass

I have amazing roommates. Seriously. And I love them for it.

Anecdote: I wake up alone on my couch at 5:30am, completely hammered and disoriented... and with a strange vibration in the pit of my stomach. I get up, somehow manage to walk to my room while stripping down to my underwear, throw on a tank top... and then miraculously run to the bathroom with just enough time to hurl into that porcelain yuckflusher. (I held my own hair back, thank you very much). But as I look up, I see Megan in the doorway, and Neda behind her.. and we continued to have a slumber party pow-ow in the kitchen, eating bread and drinking water. WHO ELSE but the BEST roommates would GET OUT OF BED (especially for Megan because she had to wake up at 7 for an extra-curricular dealy this morning) to make sure that everything was okay (which it was... ps. i was a virgin alcohol-induced-thrower-upper), and then continue to engage in hilarious conversation? And Sharyn is also great .. totally don't blame her for sleeping through that. Had to throw that in there.

Oddly enough, I read some horoscope that told me that Jan. 27 would be the worst day of the YEAR for me, but I think it just turned out to be the funniest.

But seriously. Best roommates ever. I'm so happy. I'm also so hungover.

I could talk about school and how ridiculously RIDICULOUS this semester has already been.. workload and all. But who wants to hear about that? No one. People just want to see pictures of drunk Killian.. and pictures of drunk Killian you shall have.

The night started off with a series of "rocking out" pictures

seriously LOVE this picture below. Note Sharyn in the corner! hahahah

and then led to a series of "going to all our parties" pictures.
(including a little "Carlton Dance" demo by Eileen and Neda)

Interlude.

Chocolate City Party. -Really don't remember ANYTHING from that. hahaha. (except for the 6 tequila shots)
And then I don't really remember much except for trying to play a paper towel game, and breaking my necklace that Andre fixed for me. Thank goodness. And then sitting in Andre's room waiting for Neda to bring me water. And then walking home with Tim. OH! And flirting it up with freshmen so they'd join the frat. hahah. We got hammered. Well, I got hammered. Sloshed. Smashed. Whatever you want to call it. It was great. A good weekend back. Even better than last weekend... when we.. did the same stuff.

Keep in mind: his isn't so much a "look what happened to me it's so funny" post as much as a "day in the life of a drunken Killian" post.

So, to continue:
Walking home with Tim.
(such a pimp.)

we were all so very very very very drunk. especially tim. and me.

The next two pictures I have to explain in detail. We come home. I am ridonkulous. We decide to drink some water and eat some white corn chips or whatever. We're eating away, talking, going over events.. doing what drunk people do.

And then it happens. I drop one of my chips. It hits the floor. I look at it. I look at Neda. Neda looks at me. I go for the chip. The only thing on my mind is that fallen tostito chip. I must save it.

Neda: "No Killian. Do NOT pick that up! Don't pick it up, Killian! No! Stop! No! Don't do it....Killian!"

And then my face hits the floor. MAN DOWN!!

It was an amazingly not-graceful fall.
I don't know how long I was down, but I was down for a long time.

i don't think i've ever seen myself laughing so hard in a picture before
and there's that damn chip! just chillin' like nothin happened.

and no - i am not whale tailing. that's a string from my top.
haha seriously these pictures are so my favorite. oh, heart.

So, in short, throwing up at 5am was worth it.
Because although I am suffering, those pictures are classic.

And although I do not love tequila, I love my roommates. =)

globes and maps

I've got less than a week left here in the big HK. It's gotten a little colder, windier. It had been in the 60s and 70s and now it's like maybe in the 50s and breezy, but still not bad for mid-January. I'm not yet at the point where I want to go home, mainly because there is still so much to see (I won't get the chance to see it all) and also because school will start really soon after I get back, and I'm still not over last semester.

It's going to suck to leave... especially because I'm not sure when I'll be back, or how long it will be before I see this side of the fam again. sniff. Although.. my stepmom is cool and all but she complains all the time. And after a while her neurotic/only child syndrome tendencies start to show and I can't be in tight-quarters with her for extended periods of time without wanting to jump out a window. Thank god none of those genes are in my blood. Or Connor's.. hahaha.. (that's an inside reference). Anyway, it makes me feel like I'm mentally stable in comparison so I guess that's an upside? Okay it's not that bad. But I'm still glad I'm not related... and that I don't still live here full time. haha. My dad, however, is awesome and I visited him at his office and it was pretty rock solid, but they could really work on their espresso machine. i know, i know, bitch bitch bitch. Being here is awesome. There. And here's something I'm not complaining about - THE VIEW. Freaking amazing as the haze hits the big rocks/mini islands.

MORE PICTURES!

part of the complex. that's the hole where the Dragon spirits are supposed to fly through to get from the mountain to the water in the Bay. my dad lives on the other side of the HK island, about a 20 minute bus ride from the city. upscale, where a lot of ex-pats live i guess. Posted by Picasa

like brothers on a hotel bed

Alright so the jetlag is pretty much gone... aside from me going to bed at like 9:30 and waking up at 7. that is soo not like me. but i like it. i've got some pictures. so let's see if i can show some.

recap:
day one: new years eve. as imagined, i was hanging out with my parents. it wasn't so bad. we saw some fireworks and hong kong was all lit up and then we went to Soho.. yeah, like the one in NYC.. it was pretty intense. I ended up taking shots with my dad in a room that's kept at freezing temperatures. they give you big fur coats for the cold but the vodka is all kept at "room temp." it was cool.

day two: ocean park. it's an amusement park. i kinda hate amusement parks but it's alright, we did it for matt and connor. for a while it felt like i was back in the states, just surrounded by a bunch of asian tourists. amusement parks are all the same. but we did go down a ride that is pretty much exactly like splash mountain and that was cool... but i'm definitely not gonna go to Hong Kong Disneyland. I'm all amusement-parked out.

day three: shopping down by causeway bay. it was pretty cool. lots of huge department stores surrounded by asian markets of sorts. no one has any respect for anyone else's personal space. but hey, you learn not to really care. it was really crowded. reminded me of Tokyo. It's also funny because Hong Kong dollars are like 7.75 to the American dollar. So everything is priced in the hundreds and thousands and I always have to do doubletakes on the pricetags.

today is day four: i'm planning on taking it relatively easy. I might go look at some more asian marketplaces, but I think i'll just go to the gym and go swimming and do the sauna or something. Tonight my dad, Janese, and I are going out to this wicked trendy/hip restaurant with one of my dad's younger clients, some french guy. It should be pretty cool -seeing as the bill goes to my dad's company. wooo for that! I think the spending minimum is like 65USD per person. after that i might meet up with one of my BU friends who lives out here to check out the nightlife sans parents.

how much do i love connor? he's showing me all of his motorcycles right now (toys, kids, toys) and he's always all up in my business, which is fine because he rocks. matt is doin' pretty well but he's back in school so i dont see him quite as often, and he's not as obsessed with me as connor is.. but that's just cuz connor and i are best buds. and my favorite cat, taffy... is also in love with me and that makes me happy too. woo!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Connor: Will you open my batmobile's window?
Me: Are you sure it comes off?
Connor: It looks like it doesnt but it does.
Me: Okay I'll pull on it.
[I pull open the window that isn't supposed to come off at all and it snaps -easy to glue back mind you- off in one piece]
Me: there you go...
Connor: See? I told you it open-- oh, I think you broke it.
Me: Yep, I think I did.
Connor [snaps the other side off and stares at me blankly]: yep.
Me: it's okay, i'll glue it.
Connor: we don't have any.

imm'a gonna go find some glue. maybe they don't have horses around here. heyyooo.
